Early Research

Been scouring the internet for some time looking for good inspirations for our animation, turns out it's harder to find influences when you're looking too hard!

Key Lime Pie (2007) Directed by Trevor Jimenez

A short film, film noir style. I really like this animation.. might not be completely relevant to ours but, still, characters are kinda simple but effective - the voice is nice and gritty too. Colours are awesome in this.

Stranger That Fiction (2006) Directed by Marc Forster
Had this recommended to me by a friend, the story is similar to ours and the morning routine sequence especially relevant. Also a pretty good film.

Up (2009) directed by Peter Docter & Bob Peterson

Kinda same situation. Our character needs to be younger than him though!

The Triplets of Belleville (2003) directed by Sylvain Chomet

I put this one up particularly for when the train rumbles past the house, shaking the whole building (we were talking about whether or not "man" is going to have trains in his life usually). I also like the crazy character design, his legs are are insane when he's riding the bike.

Mary and Max (2009) directed by Adam Elliot

Which I'm about to watch! But everyone says it's depressing...
